At the 1999 Milia Show in France, Bizarre Creations (developers of Formula 1 and F1 '97 for the PlayStation) officially announced its highly-detailed racing game, Metropolis. This game, to be released on the Sega Dreamcast in Europe, features real city environments in which to race. Extremely accurate physics (including full weather effects), photo-realistic textures, rendered car models, specific physics for each of the cars, and more were all bragged about in the release. Metropolis has not been announced for the U.S. yet, but it's a good guess that it will head this way.
Two game modes (arcade and "a different, more complex mode") are included. Unfortunately, Bizarre did not have any more to say about Metropolis, but it did mention a handful of other titles that Bizarre Creations is working on: Monaco GP, Super Speed Racing, and Furballs. While Monaco and SSR are pretty self-explanatory, Furballs is described as a "3D cartoon action shooter puzzle adventure explore-'em-up!" Now, that isn't exactly very revealing, but if you have ever been to Bizarre Creations' website, you already expect these guys to not actually say anything worthwhile. Let's hope that Bizarre decides to spill a couple of beans soon.
