ASC Games Teams With Everyone
01.26.99

To promote the release of Jeff Gordon XS Racing for PC and PlayStation (being respectively released in March and May), ASC Games has partnered themselves with practically everyone but Kitchen Sink Inc. The racer, which takes place in the year 2012 with cars that can reach 300 mph, but are inexplicably not driven by robots, will be supported by 7-Eleven, Fritos, Pepsi-Cola, and Toys 'R' Us.

Beginning February 1st, 7-Eleven customers that purchase a Pepsi twelve pack or an extra large bag of Fritos (a healthy snack indeed) will receive a free PC demo of Jeff Gordon XS Racing. In April, Fritos' displays and bags will advertise the game.

The Pepsi Tracktivation trailer hits the road on February 4th. Travelling to 15 Winston Cup races and 150 retail locations, Pepsi expects around 4 million race fans to play Jeff Gordon XS Racing in the trailer. And from right now until February 1st, anyone going to Toys 'R' Us can enter a sweepstakes to win a trip for two to meet Jeff Gordon, not via time machine, but at a 1999 NASCAR race to play him in a game of XS Racing.

Additional promotions for Jeff Gordon XS Racing will include contests, giveaways, and point-of-purchase displays; monthly advertising in PC, console, and consumer magazines; and a national television advertising campaign that will debut during the broadcast of the Daytona 500 on February 14th. Finally, have you noticed how every paragraph in this story has had the words "Jeff Gordon XS Racing" in it? Look, there's pics and links below! Man, these ASC Games people are advertising barbarians sweeping across the wasteland and killing any market in their path.
