As you can see by the tables, 2 different judges on seperate days placed Jamie's animals almost exactly the same placings! This tells me that we have consistancy in our sires and that ADGA Judges are the best ones to tell you how you are doing as a breeder!

We found this caliber of showing to be very educational. Yes, it did get political at times... something I find hard to accept. But over all the atmosphere is friendly and heart warming. People were willing to share clipper blades, food, hay, knowledge, and experience. The ADGA Judges were the most "teaching" judges i have ever met! We got our feet wet.... and i do believe with the experiences Jamie had at the MDGS Show, the full plunge is on the agenda for next year!

For those of you who show dairy goats, you know all the steps it takes to get to that BOS (Best of Show)Award! For the rest... first your animal must win 1st place in it's age and breed catagory. Then all the 1st place animals come back in to the ring where a Grand Champion and Reserve Champion are chosen from the 1st place winners! It's not over yet... From all of the Grand Champions from each breed a Best of Show winner is chosen! WOW! Are you confused yet?! It takes many steps to get that far...after you win a championship you must let the judge read the tattoo in the goats ear to verify the animal that just won. If it can't be read or is the wrong one it is tuff luck charlie!!!, and that win will not count as a leg towards permanent championship. (I sweated that step out at least 3 times at this show)...Whew! They were fine...

Jamie and I want to thank Udder-Paradise farm for their loving encouragement and support before , during , and after this fantastic show! Sherri.... we love you! And without your kindness we would have surely "melted down" in the process. *Hugs* for selling us Mr.Xcitment! Without him Whisper would not be here to win BOS! His kids are wonderous, and we love him dearly.

Tammy owner of Autumn Acres.....when you let Jamie purchase Hot Flash as a kid last year we had hopes of making a champion out of him! With your excellent choices in Dam and Sire..."Classic" lives on! Hot Flash is on his way to a permanent champion status, and we will see it through!

Jamie, Tammy, Hot Flash

Velvet and Shenandoah (Shanabanana as we call her) seem to be in a disagreement about who will win tomorrow!

We arrived at 11:00pm the night before the show so that the goats could settle in and be rested for the next 2 days of events. We found ourselves sleeping in a stall on the ground next to the girls...They felt great.. and us?...*yawn*... ( did you know that Nubian's moan all night and that Nigerian Dwarf's scream instead of sleep?)To those breeders out there... please take no offense...lol... but our Alpines bed down and are content to chew cud during the night hours....*wink*:)
