Total exhaustion is what this is called! The rush to get everything entered in time...did the market animals make weight?....are you done bathing, clipping, polishing?! Did you get everything loaded?.. Is all the proper paper work turned in... Load a goat and 2 jump out!.. the ewes found a way to get dirty..the ram won't load!...can't find your prize winning recipe for that cake?! Sound Familiar?
No matter how organized you seem to be something always gets forgotten. You can check and recheck that tack box, but it won't be until you get there will that one little important item not be in there! Oh, the joys of the fair....It's in our blood ,we love it!
Our local fair was July 10th-July 17. As "Gwen" is a 4-H leader ... I suddenly become "mother" to many extra children that week! I help with the weigh in of animals at the scales..pullorum test all poultry..and somehow manage to get all of our entries there on time.(This is my vacation time by the way). Doesn't it amaze you how we all survive this? LOL... Come back and see what this years fair life was like for our family! There is always new adventures each year, like who won what, who fell asleep where, the friendships made, and ahh yes...who got sick on what ride!

I can already smell the homemade pies...the cotton candy...those elephant ears! I think I am starting to hear the merry-go-round music!.... (no..she hasn't gone nuts! Just getting geared for the County Fair!)
Hey!!! We survived another year ('99) at the fair!Click here!
