The following list is the shows that I have archived in shortened (shn) format.
For those of you that are unfamiliar with shn, shn is a wav file compression
technique that in my opinion is far superior to mp3. Shn differs from mp3 in the
following ways...
- Compression ratio for mp3 is superior to shn. Mp3 will compress wav files
approximately 10:1. Shn will only compress 2:1.
- The advantage of Shn files is that they are lossless (sound quality is unaffected).
Mp3 files are lossy (sound quality is lessened). Lost sound quality on mp3 files
can never be recovered. Shn files can be decompressed back to wav files and no
difference will be experienced between the original cd (wav) file and the
compressed/decompressed file.
Due to the sound loss of mp3 files, I am NOT interested in ANY shows that have been
or are currently in the mp3 format. I only trade in shn or wav format. I have
set up a server so that I can trade via the internet shows that are in the
shortened (shn) format.
