Registration will be $100 for ican members
$125 for ican non-members.
children under 18 is $40.
AFTER February 25, 2001 registration fees will be:
$120 for members , $145 for non members, and $50 for children.
Registration includes all meals on Saturday April 21, brunch on Sunday, entertainment for the children on Saturday night, shuttle service FROM the hotel to the conference center and the conference program. Free childcare will be provided on Saturday only.
One Day registration will be available on Saturday for professionals ONLY.
Fees are: MD's $100 and $75 for other professionals. Fee is for admittance to all education sessions as well as breakfast and lunch.
There is limited room for Medical Conferences for your child also.
The Genetics Division of Albert Einstein Medical Center and The Eye and Ear Infirmary at the University of Illinois at Chicago will be having FREE medical consultations on Friday April 20, 2001 in Chicago. The free evaluations will be with a Clinical Geneticist, Genetic Counselor, Oculoplastic Surgeon and an Ocularist.
The spaces will be granted based on need. They ask you NOT register if you live near a major medical center and have access to specialists.
Some of the families live in rural areas and travel hundreds of miles to receive care for their child.

Scholarships are being given to help those families come that may not otherwise be able to
attend.
The Scholarships will be available to help fully or partially sponsor the registration fee for those needing help with finances.

Special airfare being offered is a 10% discount if reservations are made at least 60 days before
departure and a 5% discount if reservations are made within 60 days of departure.

Four new genes have been added to the 10 genes that we are already screening.
The researchers are in the United States, Italy, Scotland, and Spain!
AEMC is continuing to collect DNA samples to examine genes known to be involved
in the eye development. DNA samples are collected from affected individuals with A/M
and relevant family members and are obtained by collecting buccal mucosa (cheek cells)
and /or blood.
With research there is no promise of an answer, but the more families that participate the
better chances are that they WILL find something!
