New MSFA President Sworn In

The 133rd Annual Conference of the Michigan State Firemen’s Association was held in Midland on May 30,31, and June 1.
The MSFA was established in 1875. We proudly serve Michigan’s firefighters. We
Provide training schools for firefighters and proved our members with resources for information, communication , and representation on a state and
national level.
Each year we hold an annual conference. The conference includes noted speakers, games, meetings, etc. The speaker in Midland was Battalion Chief Steve
Chikerotis from Chicago’s 22nd Battalion on Chicago’s south side. Chief Chikerotis has written several books about his experience on the job from firefighter
to the present Chief position.
A new board is installed each year. The board has seven members each moving up one spot each year with one new member elected. The new board for
2008-2009 is President William Pearsall form Owosso, 1st Vice President Brad Harris form Sandusky, 2nd Vice President Ron Emerson form Laingsburg,
3rd Vice President Daniel Zarodkiewicz from Kinde, 1st Director Blaine Howell Sr. from Columbiaville, 2nd Director Daniel Pearsall form Corunna, and
the new member for the board is 3rd Director Toney Romans form Swartz Creek. William Pearsall was the first firefighter from Shiawassee County to be elected to the
board.

The Michigan State Firemen's Association was established
in 1875. We proudly serve Michigan's firefighters.
Any firefighter, officer, department, association or person interested in the fire service can become a member of the organization. Individual membership dues are $30 per membership per year. Department or association dues are $75 per membership per year.
All memberships expire one year from the date issued.
We welcome input from our members. If there is fire related training happening in the state of Michigan, we would like
to know about it. Please send information on training or special event to our office. Any department interested in placing an ad in our classifieds section should contact the
office.
We provide our members with resources for information, communication, and representation on a state and national
