Yes, it's taken a while to get here,
And some of you thought this day
Would never come.
Who could have known those
Young people so long ago
Would become these young adults
Graduating today.
Strong, confident, self-assured
And ready to take on the world
Before you.
As it has been said before,
It's all ahead of you, now.
So as you get ready to begin
A new chapter in your book of
Life, take these thoughts with

It has taken twelve years
To get you this far,
But don't think your learning
Is through.
You will meet many people
As time goes along,
All with advice on what
You should do.
Home-training is something
All of you have,
And you take it wherever
You go.
Sometimes your choices won't
Always be right,
If you listen to your heart
You will know.
It will take all you have inside
Yourself, to accomplish
Your many goals.
Put forth your best effort
Each and every time
Always keep learning and
Continue to grow.
If you could see yourself
Through your parents eyes
As their parents before did see,
The pictures and scenes
would be a kaleidoscope,
Of what your futures could be.
Becoming an adult takes time you'll see
It is not something that happens overnight
Your experiences and situations
will be many not few
And if you take nothing else
away with you today
