Power Of Prayer
You say you really need somebody,
Gotta escape from feelings of lust.
You say there's nobody there for you,
And I listen in disgust.
I mention a certain somebody,
Who's never known to fail.
Who's been a shrink for everyone,
But at the name your face went pale.
"There's no such thing, God don't exist,
Besides, why should he care?
Aint no way out but suicide,
There aint nobody there."
These words you told me, smile and all,
I wanted to do the job myself!
But my temper calmed by one glimpse,
At the Quran on my shelf.
"If you kill yourself, you leave behind,
Some people who really care."
"I kill myself and no-one crys!
There aint NOBODY there."
A prayer I said, God, give me words!
Help me get it through!
And God's promises prevailed, I stuck his word,
Deep in an atheist like you.
A prayer that was so powerful,
Just because I believed,
I knew that once the words were out,
You'd live. I could be relieved.
And now, just look my little friend,
Who said 'there aint nobody there'
Your on your knee's, head lowered to the floor.
That's the power in a little prayer. ;)
