Chapter 3: Zoom Tool



The zoom tool is used to control the mangnificaion level of the drawing in the document window. With the Zoom tool active, clicking on the document will increase the magnification of the drawing by the amount defined in the Steps tab of the Inkscape Preferences window. Holding the Shift key and clicking on the document with the Zoom tool will decrease the magnification of the drawing. Drawing a rubber band with the Zoom tool will increase the magnification to fit the selection in the document window. The Zoom Tool Controls bar contains icons for the special zoom commands. See the View menu documentation for more information about these commands.
