Are You Ready?

Daily, experts in various fields express concern about the "Y2K" Bug. Will it cause the world's economy to crash? Will it wreck our social and physical environment? Will there be widespread blackouts? Will our water resources fail? Some doomsayers say, "Yes". Others, less pessimistic, are saying, "Maybe". We shall discover who's right as 1999 rolls around to the year 2000 - which by the way, marks the end of the second millennium since Christ's birth.

But, do you realize there is an event just ahead far more dramatic and serious than the Y2K problem? It will have worldwide impact. When it happens, millions of people will suddenly disappear, families will be divided and life as we know it will be totally disrupted.

Scholars call this next event in God's timetable, THE RAPTURE -or Christ's Return. Paul, the enemy turned friend of Christianity, talks about it in one of his letters. He tells us that when Christ descends from Heaven he will take all who are his to be with him: those who reject Christ will be left for judgment. Jesus Himself spoke of this too. (Note: the word "Rapture" comes from the Latin, "rapto", which means, "to snatch away")

The big question is: "When will this great event take place?" We don't know. In fact Jesus told his disciples that no one knows, not even the angels. Only God the Father knows that date." What we do know is that all the other things slated to happen before the RAPTURE have already happened! So the time must be near.

How can you make sure you are ready for the RAPTURE? Have you ever thought about it? This is serious stuff. Now is your moment of opportunity. Here are three simple steps you can take:

        I. Confess to God that you are a sinner needing his forgiveness. 2. Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ shed His blood, died on the Cross, to pay the penalty of your sins and invite him to take control of your life, a 3. Repent and accept the fact that according to God's Word, you are now "born again" -- to use Jesus' own words. Be sure to tell somebody else!

There may be a few things you can do to prepare for Y2K - who knows? But there is something you can do to prepare for the RAPTURE! Take the three steps just mentioned, TODAY, before it is forever too late! Question: Will the RAPTURE take place before Y2K? It might. Better be prepared.
