Hosted by the hooman beans of Waters Wayward Weezils & Motor City Ferrets

What a fun day we had on Saturday, May 17, 2003!  Lots of friends and critters came out to the home of Waters Wayward Weezils in Hamburg on a lovely Spring day. We had super weather; just warm enough in the sun and cool enough in the shade in the front yard. The critters enjoyed walking about on their leashes, being oogled over by new hooman beans and digging like mad-weezils in playpens set out on the front yard. During the after-party cleanup we found several impressive holes in the lawn, some complete with toys at the bottom! Next time we'll remind the critters to replace their divots hee hee. We had a few silly contests, the winners of which were:

Tube Race: Roger Kunzelman
Bag Escape: Newby Greathouse
Longest Tail: Bruce Kunzelman
Shortest Tail: Flower Waterstradt
Heaviest Chubbster: Jeffrey Kunzelman
Lightest Wee'un: Cleo Neubauer
Best Kisser Face: Daisy Reed

We discovered that Jeffrey is indeed the world's biggest ferret (he beat out an intact male even - WOW),
Daisy really is a sweetie pie and Bruce is an 8" male. Right, the length of his tail...what were YOU thinking? ;)~

The dog who joined our party is a neighborhood dog, Daisy. She is very old, extremely arthritic and her family completely ignores her, leaving her to wander the neighborhood throughout the day as her arthritis allows. Daisy arrived early in the day and never left. She went around to most of the hoomans and then would park herself in front of each traveler cage to spend time with the fuzzies. She got excited with the hoomans over the contests and overall we think she had one hell of a fun day. We were glad that this poor old gal, who should be the center of attention every day, at least had some fun with us.

On the same weekend we held our annual Yard Sale Fundraiser. We were overwhelmed with approximately 592 metric tons of donated goodies - WOW! Thank you SO much to the following folks for generously donating so much wonderful stuff. Our sale raised over $500, all of which was used for vet care for the shelter critters!

Thanks to all who joined us for the fest. We were so pleased to see so many happy weezils madly digging holes in the yard. It seems the critters all had fun - we hope the hoomans did as well!

See you next year!
