Ever since I was a lad of 4 or 5, and I saw a re-issue of The Wizard of Oz, I have been a dedicated and fanatical movie buff.
I was fortunate to have a mother who understood my attachment to film and nurtured my love of all things cinematic. She took me to see all kinds of different movies and answered all of my questions as best she could.
As I aged, my interest grew and I began reading everything I could get my hands on regarding movies. Mom worked in a bookstore during my formative years, so I could get my hands on a lot of stuff.
Consequently, my brain has stored countless bytes of really useless movie trivia. Go ahead, ask me a question about any movie made after 1970, and I'll give you some bit of information about it. Now I am the family "movie historian", it's a rare week when someone doesn't ask me to open my vault and spew forth my knowledge.
So, when I began thinking of new things to do with this page, it occured to me, providing movie reviews would be an ideal addition.
My writing style is more Joe Bob Briggs than Roger Ebert, so if you want an honest and pithy review of a movie, come back and check me out.
