Find the phone # to the company
Ask may I please speak to someone in charge of sponsorships?
When the person gets on the phone, if its a skating company ask them how they would go about applying for a sponsorship.
Non-skating company you are probably going to have to explain to them what they will gain by sponsoring you
fax the info asap if acceptable
call 30 minutes after you fax "to make sure they have recieved the fax" and to answer any ?'s that they might have (note: I use the tech. of bombarding them with tons of information, like 20-30 pages worth; it catches them off guard and blows them away.)
if you can't fax take other appropriate coarse of action.
Note: Check to see if your newspaper has an area sports. If they do after each of your races write up a little article and send it to them and they should print it up. Hope it helps happy hunting.
