About Me
I am Lisa Belson, a 15 year old teenager, that my parents think is a pain (but I usually behave myself, or at least try to). Sorry, I won't have any pictures of me, or my lovely English Lops until I find someone with a scanner. I will be a sophomore in High School coming up at the end of August. I live in Middleville, Michigan. I have two older sisters, Allison and Sarah. Sarah is 20 and will be moving to Florida with her friend, YES! Sarah will be hanging out with 'NSYNC, yes the group that sounds a lot like Backstreet Boys. Allison is 16, and will be a junior in High School next year. I won't see her around much either, because she's with her boyfriend most of the time. I have been raising rabbits for 6 years and English Lops for 3 years. Fair for 4-H ended on July 25, 1998. My club, Classy Country Critters, consist of 4 families and 6 kids. We did very well for only having 6 members. Our awards were: reserve junior showman, Ben Soper, reserve senior showman, Lisa Belson, BOB Rex, Samantha Stephenson, BOB Mini Rex, Lisa Belson, BOB and Reserve Jersey Wooly, Samantha Vandersloot, and Reserve Single Fryer, Ben Soper. The members are: me (Lisa Belson), Samantha Vandersloot, Ben and Rachel Soper, and Samantha and Sarah Stephenson. Our proud leader is Reba Stepenson (along with the help of the parents). I own 22 rabbits, 20 English Lops, 1 Mini Rex, and 1 Polish. I also show A.R.B.A. One of the people that has help me the most with my English Lops is Tony Schneider. He helped me figure out the difference between good and bad English Lops. He has raised English Lops for quite a while and has some very nice animals. I went to my FIRST A.R.B.A Nationals in Madison, Wisconsin for the 74th annual Convention. It was a great experience and I got to meet a few new English Lop breeders. I did okay, I almost got a first but then he got disqualified because he was 3 OUNCES overwieght. I was so depressed. But all in all I had LOADS of fun, and made lots of great memories to add to the great fun. Unfortunatly, I won't be going to the 75th A.R.B.A. Convention in Portland, Oregon. That's a long haul with rabbits and for me. But I am planning on going to the 76th Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. I am a member of American Rabbit Breeders Association, Lop Club of America, and the Michigan State Rabbit Breeders Association. I am usually at most of the larger Michigan shows. This year I am going to start going to some shows in Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. So maybe I might see ya at some of them.
