Bayshore Inn AccomodationsHere is the floor plan for the guest suite which occupies the lower level of the house.
Bayshore is a family friendly place to relax and unwind and refresh yourself. For about the price of two hotel rooms, you'll get a lot more room and privacy (The summer rate works out to only $43 per night per bedroom - Heck, it costs $20 per night just to board one dog at a dog boarding place!!). Here, you can make yourself at home and visit in the family room or have some peace and quiet in a bedroom. You'll have a full kitchen and lots of outdoor space - plus there are no stairs, no elevators and no parking lots. Kids love it out here because they have so much outdoor space. The fully furnished 1100 square foot space sleeps 6-9 and includes satellite TV, wireless internet access (WiFi), home theater system with DVD player, complete kitchen facilities, a charcoal BBQ, coffeemaker, microwave, toaster, stick blender, salad spinner, kitchen utensils, bath towels, kitchen and bed linens, one roll of paper towels, two rolls of toilet paper and small amounts of basic kitchen items (coffee, tea, sugar, vegetable oil, flour, salt, pepper, garlic salt, dish soap). There is a hair dryer in the bathroom and cotton robes in each room so you can have more room in your suitcases. Nightlights are in every room because I know when I travel, I always take one with me. Because it is built into the hillside, it stays naturally cool in summer. The view from every room looks out over a field onto a quiet bay, not a busy street. In fact, Bayshore is one of the few places that is not on or very close to a main thoroughfare and is one of the most unique properties in the Copper Country. It's so peaceful, that staying here feels like luxury camping or being in a small resort. Imagine being able to sit outside at the patio table in your pajamas sipping your morning coffee and watching the birds. ;-) Summer guests have use of a 12 foot aluminum rowboat, a pedal boat that will seat four (see pic below), and a two person sit-on-top kayak. You can fish for Perch, Bass, Pike and Walleye on the lake, and the pond is stocked with Rainbow Trout and Bluegill. The lake breezes keep the temperatures cooler and keep the bugs away so you can really enjoy being outdoors. There is a large rock rimmed fire pit just out front for campfires if conditions permit, and the country setting makes for wonderful stargazing at night. In the winter, there is plenty of parking space for snowmobilers that is very safe and secure. You can park your sled right outside the door and the in-floor heat feels great after a chilly ride. To clear up any confusion: Yes folks, I occupy the upper level with the dogs and cat. I started out operating as a Bed & Breakfast way back in 1993, so when I built this place, I designed it so could function either as a B&B or as a rental. As a rental, the door to the upstairs is locked and it is entirely separate from my space - like an apartment or condo would be. There is no "shared" space. I know that some people are not comfortable with this arrangement. That's fine, but consider this.... if you stay in a hotel, you may have any number of people on either side, across the hall, and above and below you. Here, there is only one person within 100 feet of the place and that is a very quiet never-mind year old grandmother who also has a real job to go to. ;-) If you're looking for peace and quiet, you can't do much better, and the beauty and serenity of the property is second to none. This is truly a home way from home.
