Claude Annis was killed in action Aug. 7, 1918, in Chateau Thiery, France, at the age of 28. Annis, a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, died after being shot in the head while serving in France on August 6, 1918. He died the next day at the age of 28. Buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Adrian, MI.

Died in California and is buried at Buried at San Francisco (CA) National Cemetery.
