Whereas the inalienable historical of the sovereign existence of Nagalim are indisputable, and KWIA, The Flemish Support group for Indigenous Peoples, commits itself to “SUPPORT THE INHERENT RIGHT OF THE NAGA PEOPLE TO SELF-DETERMINATION AND INDEPENDENCE.”

In the light of the information we received from the National Socialist Council of Nagaland, headed collectively by Messrs. Isak Chishi Swu, Khodao Yanthan and Th. Muivah, we appeal to the Indian Government to stop the atrocities towards the Naga people, to stop the killing of innocent Naga citizens, and to stop the strategies set up to divide the Naga communities and organizations.

The Naga people as a whole has the right to determine its own future , its own political institutions and its own social system without foreign interference , that is, free from alien occupation, both military and civil. The KWIA encourages the Naga people in their work to put this right to self-determination into practice with the support and participation of all the Nagas.

As long as the armed occupation of Nagalim by the states of India and Myanmar and the process of colonization of the Naga territory by non-Naga settlers continue, we respect and support the Naga resistance by all legal means, including armed resistance, as authorized by the international law.

For the sake of peace and justice, we strongly urge the governments of India and Myanmar to recognize the rights of the Nagas to determine their own future.
