A webring is basically a group of sites in commen that have a code to allow you to surf through different sites on the ring easier than searching for another site with the same topic.
The way a webring works is first you join, when you join you are submitted to the queue, the queue is were you are before on the ring (like a waiting list), you receive an email and are told to put a certain code on your page. The ringmaster(s) looks at pages on the queue to see if they have the code on them. Once they see the code and make sure it is correct than you are added to the ring and the people come to your page by the ring.
