Saturday was a long day. We got there around 8:30AM to uncover the car and set out the book of the build. They had so many people that day that they extended the show an extra hour. We didn't leave till 10:00PM! Jim Kaczmar came to see the car and I unveiled my little surprise for him. I had "RONNIE'S RIDE" painted on the vent doors, in honor of his brother. I also gave him one of our custom "CROSLEY-DAVIDSON" shirts. Only 12 in the world!! A few more pictures of the people and of a few special vehicles on display.
Mark from Jalopnik.com stopped by and did an interview with me about the car. Here's a link to their web site. He did a good job on the editing cause I was ramblin' on and on and on about the car. JALOPNIK.

On Sunday, they started the award presentation at 5:00. There had to have been 400 people there!! When they announced my name and the car, I heard from across the room, "WAY TO GO MR. CROSLEY!" People shook my hand on the way up to get my trophy and I had to stop 5 times on my way back to my seat for more hand shaking! I was truly touched! For my first ever show, and the show of shows, AUTORAMA at COBO in Detroit, I place first. I'm still not sure it was all real. At 8:00 they announced that the show was over and there must of been 40 cars fire up and head for the back door. A lot of them drove out and loaded their cars outside to save time. I was all the way to the front of the hall so I wasn't going anywhere for a while, but I didn't think that I would still be there at midnight!!! I didn't get my truck and trailer into the building till around 11:15. Got home about 1:00AM Monday so I took Monday off work. Slept till 10:30... Here's the trophy & the little car that did it. I still haven't come up with a name for her... Any suggestions? Email me at bearmans@comcast.net with what you think we should name her.

March 23rd, Easter Sunday, Well, Replaced the bearings in the idler pulley, installed a new belt and fired it up. Ran like crap so I took out the HIGH dollar Screaming Eagle spark plugs and threw in a used set of Autolites, ran like a top!!! Here she is going through the gears on her first real road trip, to the corner and back... If you close your eyes and listen as she goes by, you would think it was a Harley... It sounds like I'm really gettin' it but that was only 1/4 throttle. Near the far corner, you can hear as I let off the gas it shifts into 3rd. Will have to get it on the BIG road and try overdrive. Can't wait to get her out again!!!
March 31st, Was a pretty day Saturday so I decided that after cleaning the garage after 18 months of Crosley building, I'd take the car for a quick run up to ABC HD. I got 60 feet from the driveway and blew the head gasket on the rear (passenger side) cylinder!! Was I bummed! So, a quick drive to Boomer's to get a top end gasket set, I replaced the head gasket. It took 2 1/2 hours and 4 beers... I also bought 2 HD chrome horn covers and with a little modifying, they look great! I had to repaint the horns black to hide the red. Pictures to follow. My next show is at the GM Tech Center in Warren on Sunday,May 4th, 10:00 to 4:00. Free admission!! Stop and say HEY!!! After that, Saturday, May 10th, we'll be in Imlay City at the fairgrounds for the Eastern Michigan Autofest, swap meet and craft show.
