La DiOsA DeL aMoR
Hola A Todos, My name is Venus (aka: La_Diva...La Diosa). I attend Michigan State University. I am currently a second year Political Science/Pre-Law Student, but I see a change in my future. I am from Ann Arbor MI, and although I attend MSU, deep down somewhere inside I am a UofM fan...gO bLuE!! Let's see, this is my first real attempt at a homepage. The first one I had was REALLY bad so I thought it was time to update it abit. A little tid bit about me: I love the arts alot. I have studied music for the majority of my life. I was in the Pioneer Symphony Orchestra back home (one of the BEST Nationally known orchestras around). I played the Double Bass. It was the best experience of my life. I was given many opportunities and traveled a bit in the process. Aside from playing the Double Bass, I also play the Cello and the piano. I also LOVE to sing. I was a part of the Pioneer Jazz Band making me the first Jazz singer there. That experience is one I will NEVER forget. I also did alot of singing in plays and musicals when I was in highschool. Such shows as: "Annie Get Your Gunot;, "Finians Rainbow", "100% Chance of Rain", "You Can't Take It With You", "Bye Bye Birdie" Plus "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". All these shows were big hits, and I miss being involved with theater greatly. Currently, I am kept busy with different organizations on campus. I am involved with Culturas De Las Razas Unidas, Michigan State University South Complex Judicial Board, and now my own organization that I Co-Founded called United Activist for Equal Rights (UAER). UAER is a organization that is long over due. We focus on issues that concern equal rights for all people regardless of Race, Creed, Color, Origin, Sex, or Diabilities. We want to bring equal opportunity to all and make sure any violations are brought to light. We focus prodominently on those under represented because alot of issues are pushed aside. We are in the process of putting together a panel of experts and a committee that is made up of other students. The students would be selected from their different organizations on campus and will join the panel as a "rep" for their group (the organization they want to represent). This is a chance for all the organizations on campus to come together and have their (our) voices heard. I will have a added link discussing more about this as the information becomes avalible.
