Bascall

It was a wet and drizzling day in the Junkyard. Every cat stayed somewhere to keep dry. Jennyanydots and Jellylorum were sitting comfortably in the old car, sewing and knitting scarves for the upcoming winter. Suddenly they heard a small mew coming outside of the car. They opened the trunk and found a small, wet, and shivering kitten just outside looking for a warm, dry place to stay.

"Well, my word!" exclaimed Jenny.

"What are you doing out there little one?" asked Jelly. The kitten just shivered and looked at them with big, almond eyes. Jelly picked up the kitten and brought him inside. They dried him off and gave him a warm blanket to sleep on. "Poor little thing. What was he doing out there?" asked Jelly.

"I've certainly never seen him before!" exclaimed Jenny.

"Deuteronomy and Munkustrap will either be astonished or mad. What do you think they will do with him?" Jenny fumbled with her knitting. Both loved him very much and liked the little tom. "I wonder if he has a name?" asked Jenny.

Jelly looked at her and said, "I'm not sure."

"How about..........Pelistom?"

"Oscealo?"

"Bascall! That's a beautiful name!" exclaimed Jenny.

"Oh! An absoloute thriller!" Jelly eyes brightened at the thought.

The next day, Jelly told Munkustrap about little Bascall. He worried some, thinking about Macavity, his usual self. He told Old Deuteronomy and he was very thrilled. Jenny brought Bascall to Old Deuteronomy. Bascall looked at Deuteronomy and Deuteronomy did the same. Then Bascall found a sudden interest in Deuteronomy's tail and pounced it. Deuteronomy laughed and immediately allowed him into the tribe. Muncustrap objected thinking Bascall may be a distraction for them while Macavity went on with some evil plan.
