The Guinea Pigs' Summer Storybook
$18.00
Paperback; 224 pages
Perfect bound
Typed text; B&W illustrations

The Guinea Pigs' Summer Storybook takes the reader on 10 adventures occuring during the warmest months of the year. Object lessons are sensitively introduced, such as listening, playing fair, and helping with younger siblings (but the lessons are never over-the-top or condescending, and kids won't even notice they're there!).

Adventures include a picnic, playing at the local park, visiting the zoo, and summer camp. Just for starters, you'll meet Violet, the bumbling cavy; Polly, who loves her "mumsie;" and Percival, who longs to be a superhero. And we mustn't forget Aunt Puffy and Uncle Fubsy, and their crop farm (Violet wonders what type of animals "crops" are).
This is destined to be your favorite cavy book. The contents are as cute, funny, and loveable as real guinea pigs.
At over 200 pages, this book contains approximately 100 drawings accompanying 10 stories.

About the Author/Illustrator
Melissa J. Taylor has owned guinea pigs since the age of nine. Percival, Polly, and Penguin's friends are based on guinea pigs Melissa has owned. Her favorite character, the bumbling-but-loveable Violet, was her childhood pet and first guinea pig--and almost lived to the age of nine! Every guinea pig she has ever owned has been named after a plant, which is why there is always at least one flower in every illustration! Can you find all of them?

Melissa once worked as a cartoonist for a well-known pet magazine and has had several pet and health articles professionally published. She began writing these stories as a youth mentor.
