For this tutorial you will need:

PSP 7 -- download a trial version.

Simple Filters -- download here.

FM Tile Tools -- download here.

I would classify this tutorial as INTERMEDIATE LEVEL, which assumes you have a basic knowledge of PSP and its tools, as well as working with various filters.

So, let's get started!!!

Open a new transparent image, 300 x 300 and click ok. Go to File, Save as doodle embossed bg.psp or a name of your choosing and be sure to save your work often!

Flood fill with a color of your choice. I used #023F40. Change your foreground color to a slightly lighter shade (I used #287B7C).

Set your paintbrush tool to the following settings.

Make some "doodles" on your image, whatever you want to do. Following are my "doodles."

Now go to geometric effects and apply CurlyQ's with the following settings.

Next go to your filters and choose Simple - Pizza Slice Mirror.

Filters again and choose FM Tile Tools - Blend Emboss, using the preset settings. Apply. You can apply it a second time if you want a more pronounced emboss. I applied twice on my image.

Now double click on your selection tool, and you will get the following settings.

Apply.

Now go to selections - convert to seamless tile.

Save your image, and you have a "one of a kind" embossed background!!

Experiment with colors to come up with some really unique backgrounds. Following are a few others I did.

I hope you have enjoyed this tute. HAVE FUN PLAYING WITH IT!
