For this tutorial you will need:

PSP 7 -- download a trial version.

Ulead Art Texture -- download a free version.
This is optional.

Bullet Hole Tube -- download here.
(Unzip and install as a tube in PSP.)

I would classify this tutorial as INTERMEDIATE LEVEL, which assumes you have a basic knowledge of PSP and its tools, as well as installing tubes.

So, let's get started!!!

Open a new transparent image, 300 x 300 and click ok. Go to File, Save as bullet hole bg.psp or a name of your choosing and be sure to save your work often!

Flood fill layer one with a gold gradient, gold pattern or a gold texture from Ulead Art Texture. I usually use Art Texture because of the variety. If you choose to use an Art Texture, remember that you need to flood fill the layer with any color, pattern, etc. before you can apply the filter.

Add a new layer named bullet holes and open your bullet hole tube. Size 50, Step 1.

By dragging your bullet hole tube, make a design similar to the following..be sure not to cover your whole image as you want some gold to show through. Add a few single black bullet holes in your image.

Go to colors, colorize and choose this:

Your image should look similar to this:

Now for the magic...*S* Go to your layer pallet and choose the following settings:

Feel free to experiment with the opacity...it will change the amount of dissolve.

Now double click on your selection tool and you should have this:

Go to selections, convert to seamless pattern.

Now you have a seamless tile...save it with a name of your choice.

Here are a couple samples of others I made. It's impossible to create exactly the same thing every time. Play with colors and settings on your pallet, i.e. exclusion, burn, difference, etc.

I hope you have enjoyed this tute. HAVE FUN PLAYING WITH IT!
