Acireale is the home of some fine examples of Sicilian Baroque Architecture.

In 1693 the south east of Sicily was devestated by a catastrophic earthquake. The rebuilding was of a uniform design and on a grand scale.

The sea, sky and coast, enveloped by a soft haze, merge somewhere in the distance. All my usual convictions pale in comparison to the certainties held in those depths.
