Mission Statement

As a task force we will expand awareness of LGBTQ health within school curriculum to empower youth and educators to be effective advocates and to promote access to consistent education and information. In addition, we will work to provide incentives for community involvement, family support, and improvements in the provision of health care.

Youth Health Task Force Goals

To create an inclusive sex education curriculum that addresses the spectrum of sexual and gender identities.

To encourage and support community collaboration involving educators, families, healthcare providers, and youth.

To challenge policy and government mandates that limit funding and restrict diverse curriculum.

The Problem

Concerning the LGBTQ populations, there is a lack of consistent and diverse sex education in school. Youth are being denied a broad and inclusive sex education curriculum which can have a detrimental effect on their self-esteem, available knowledge, and overall health.
