World Report

Weather Report: United States: More of the same unless you do something about it. ¡§Violence is criminal and/or mentally ill ƒ¾ƒnƒ¾ƒnƒ¾ unless it is sanctioned by the government.¡¨ Banks are reaping large profits for themselves while the rest of the country is in a FINANCIAL tail spin. It¡¦s no wonder banks make so much money when commerce is otherwise down nationwide. They pay you a generous 1 or 2% (or so) on deposits and charge you an average of 8 to 15% to finance a purchase. Then there are all the other service charges, fee¡¦s & penalties. If you fall behind on deposits & payments ¡§penalty interest¡¨ jumps up to, and over 30%. Additionally there are individual penalties at the rate of $28 or more. It doesn¡¦t take a genius to see that these policies are like taking a pound of flesh from the very people who can least afford it. We are all being forced to use a bank in everyday life, but the bank¡¦s greed takes such a large portion of what little money we manage to earn, that the banking system actually holds down the poor citizens, trapping us in an endless cycle of paying the banks instead of paying our bills. Types Of Violence Physical, power & control, economic abuse, male privilege, intimidation, coercion, threats, minimizing, denying, blaming, emotional abuse. Non Violence Honesty & accountability, Negotiation & fairness, economic partnership, shared responsibility, non threatening behavior, trust & support, respect. BUDGET BITS To stretch your laundry dollar and conserve water, launder less often. ƒ¨ƒnƒ¨ƒnƒ¨ Give your underwear a squirt of Febreze every now and then instead. THiNK GREEN ! Mans Inhumanity To Fellow Man ¡§THOSE WHO MAKE PEACEFULL REVOLUTION IMMPOSSIBLE ONLY MAKE VIOLENT REVOLUTION INEVITABLE.¡¨ - PRESIDENT John F Kennedy - & Martin Luther King ¡§Don¡¦t ever say we are going into a revolution. We are in a revolution. The question now is, who¡¦s gonna win it?¡¨ Who¡¦s Side Is Our Government On? During WWII our government took over factories at home during war time to manufacture what was needed to win the war. A war which began because Germany¡¦s economics were in crisis. Now in America we are in an economic war against our own people. The masses are economically trampled by the rich & powerful few. So why doesn¡¦t our government take over the offending corporations? Maybe it is because our government is on the side of the offending corporations and not on your side after all. The AUTO MAKER Bailouts Why do we keep bailing out automakers who¡¦s companies fail? To preserve citizens jobs. Clearly this hasn¡¦t been that successful, so why keep doing it? Why not: give the money to State Universities, seize the automobile factory (as they would seize your property and mine ¡K if we defaulted on our debt.) and then charge the universities with producing new cars with the seized equipment? Universities, professors and their contributing students would all profit from intellectual property, and the university could use their share to recruit and educate more talent? ƒnƒnƒnƒnƒnƒnƒnƒnƒÈƒnƒÈƒnƒÈ The Cash For Clunkers program was a joke. Those truly in need of assistance couldn¡¦t even qualify. Most of the traded in vehicles were trucks traded for newer trucks with only ¡¨marginally¡¨ better mileage, traded to people who can afford to buy a new truck. The re-sale value of used cars has plummeted due to the actions of the auto makers and our government. Being unable to sell a used car to prevent or get out of debt forces the rest of us deeper & deeper into debt. from the movie, " The Adventures Of Werner Holt, 1964" (Germany's quintessential movie about WWII) ... a quote from Nietzsche, " Our belief in others betrays that which we'd like to believe in ourselves. Our yearning for a friend will betray us." Banks and Your Credit Report When a person¡¦s income drops, bank fee¡¦s rise and people a forced to pay the banks a larger portion of a smaller income for the privilege of being forced to do business through them. This shows on the credit report that THEY send information about you to. A good credit report is required simply to rent a place to live. When a persons otherwise ¡§good¡¨ credit report suffers due to unemployment & underemployment, which is in turn due to the mismanagement of our nations government, corporations & banks, then the end result is that ¡§the system¡¨(their credit report about you) controls whether or not you are even able to qualify for a place to live. The opinions of executives at MasterCard & Visa have no place in deciding whether or not a citizen of the United States qualifies to rent a home. ¡§Must See¡¨ Movie Ratings Idiocracy (2006) ƒ½ƒ½ƒºƒºƒº The French Revolution (History Channel 2004) ƒ½ƒ½ƒ½ The Weather Underground (2002) ƒ½ƒ½ƒ½ƒ½ The Three Classes Update Corporate and government are one and the same class. The middle class is being eliminated. Soon two thirds of all citizens will agree that our government took too long to act and perhaps our government can¡¦t even be trusted. A revolution is inevitable, the question is will it be bloody or not bloody? Let us learn from the mistakes of the worlds revolutions and revolutionary movements: The French Revolution, The Nazi Party, and in the last 40 years: Japan, Angola, China, France (again) Mexico, Cuba, Vietnam, The Black Panthers, The Weather Underground, The Congo, Chile, Mogadishu, Bosnia, and Iraq. Economics, or should I say the lack of it, has been the fuse that has started bloody conflict, over and over and over again throughout history. (No matter what other reasons are also attached to the conflict as well.) This time ethnicity or religion have nothing to do with it. The ruling class is simply getting smaller and more powerful, while the majority of this countries people are getting poorer, already in poverty or headed there fast. Basic needs such as housing, food, water, transportation, information and energy, each take an unfair proportion of earnings from those in and near poverty. The requirement to participate in a corrupt banking system & maintain a good credit report is weighted heaviest against the poorest of our nation¡¦s people. When these financial burdens are too much to demand, that is when individuals join the revolution. Don¡¦t they know of the economic violence that is destroying our communities? Don¡¦t they know that allowing this (economic) violence to continue is violence? Don¡¦t they know that if they don¡¦t PREVENT a revolution that a revolution is inevitable? They will lose everything they are hording if they don¡¦t give something up to the people now. The longer they take, the more likely that the revolution will be bloody! America¡¦s people are supposed to own the airwaves. So why do we pay so much for access to information: a phone, internet, TV, and even radio? An average $100 month (and up) is far too much for a family in poverty to pay. It creates an information divide between the haves & have not¡¦s when the poorest citizens pay the most out of their earnings to access information. Why can¡¦t our government then force the cost down? Our government regulates the costs of other utilities, why not the airwaves which all of us are supposed to own? Sunday Jan 10, 2010 Seattle Times Front Page: National Headline Story: Bankers are paying themselves huge end of year bonuses comparable to the amounts they paid themselves when the economy was thriving. State Headline Story, also on the front page: The State of Washington will run out of money in 3 months. There is a 3.2 Billion dollar debt. They want to raise taxes to pay for it. And in the local newspaper recently: Every county and city office is facing severe cutbacks, tremendous backlogs and lack of services. Food Stamp Enrollment Has Sky Rocketed. Unemployment is at 10-20% depending on where you live and who¡¦s counting. And in my mail this week from ¡§the¡¨ Bank: ¡§Insufficient Funds Notice: The items listed were presented for payment against your account on 01-06-10 creating an overdraft of $71.31. A TOTAL FEE OF $56.00 WAS APPLIED TO YOUR ACCOUNT FOR THE HANDLING OF THESE ITEMS. YOUR RESLUTING LEDGER BALANCE IS $2.69.¡¨ If there is still $2.69 in my account, how could I be overdrawn AFTER a $56 fee was removed from my account and put in a bankers pocket? And in my mail this past year: ¡§From DSHS: there is no longer a sliding scale for new patients, there is no access to a doctor or dentist of any kind for you unless you go to the emergency room. (and you will get a very expensive emergency room bill.) Your only other alternative is to call the crisis clinic on the telephone if things really get bad for you. Until then, we can¡¦t help you.¡¨ (and you will still get a bill if you continue the telephone call with follow up treatment at a clinic) ¡§You are denied access to the $7,000 in your Employment Security Account because it has been determined that you are able to work.¡¨ You will have to try to survive and find work in a country riddled with job losses without the benefit of any employment security funds though you have been gainfully employed and have contributed to the system for 30 years. ¡§From the Child Support Office: Congratulations, ¡§your request for temporary/emergency modification of your payments has resulted in a $300 a month reduction of your monthly payments. We have added a retroactive judgment against you which goes nine years.¡¨ (by all records and communications with my case worker, my account has always been in good standing until I made a request for relief.) ¡§ This judgment is for $18,000 and we have also added a lien on all of your real property. This retroactive judgment against your account now shows on your credit report as a nine year old unpaid debt.¡¨ Synopsis: The State wants to tax unemployed & under employed citizens to pay for the very same programs these citizens themselves are forced to rely on. The government is part of the corrupted economy. They give our tax money away to bail out the very scoundrels that caused the financial collapse in the first place. Not only that, our government also expect us to bail them out as well, through higher taxes. All the while our government continues to allow banks and corporations to profiteer on the unfortunate by using mathematical formulas and ¡§policies¡¨ that are no different than a fancy Ponzi Scheme. Corporate America¡¦s ¡§Method Of Operation¡¨ is immoral & it is irresponsible. It has heavily damaged our nation, our people, and the world. In so far as our ¡§Great Democracy¡¨ is concerned it is still all perfectly legal. Rest In Peace Fred Hampton, Deputy Chairman of the Black Panthers. Shot to death in 1969 by Chicago Police while in bed at 4:45 in the morning. His crime, being a popular and charismatic leader who opposed the United States Government which had been long ignoring the voices of its people, even as popular anger over government policy spilled into the streets. Rest In Peace George Jackson, Best Selling Author & Prison Civil Rights Organizer. Killed by police during an alleged jail break in August 1971, after speaking to the nation on national TV.
