Healthcare Industry - The Reality We Have To Face
If we look back at history, people had short life expectancy. Now, the life expectancy has doubled. The reason for this is the advancements we had in the field of healthcare. There’s also the protection offered by healthcare insurances to people who have them. Unfortunately, healthcare today is overshadowed by various issues. One of them is the call for healthcare reform. It is an issue that is contested by many people. A topic that is too common for comfort.
Fact: healthcare is an industry - not just a simple one but a large one. It’s widespread across various countries and oceans. In this industry, there’s a huge flow of money involved. In the past, this money was meant to help the people who need proper healthcare. Things are rather different now. The concern of the people behind this industry is not about helping other people but fattening their pockets. This is why, the costs of healthcare has increased by manifold.
This sad thing has made healthcare into a business and is no longer a service. The quality of care needed for better life and health is now only available to a few people who can afford the premiums. The people who cannot afford them would only hope and pray that their health will be good at all times. Sadly, such thing would not always happen. Sickness would always haunt those who have no healthcare. When this happen, they don’t know what to do.
Healthcare is an important thing. Each person should have an access to it. So, healthcare should be reformed. It should be made accessible and affordable, especially to regular folks. Policies should be changed.
