A bit about myself

I hail from the great Commonwealth of Virginia and have lived here most of my life. What a great place to appreciate American history! I primarily game solo or with my son, but travel often to Roanoke or conventions to enjoy some gaming time with friends.

I've always been passionate about history, especially military history. I feel that we can learn so much from the victories and mistakes of our forefathers.  I enjoy researching strategy, tactics, as well as the uniforms and weapons of bygone eras.  It all started when I was a kid; my parents took me to see the 1971 flick "Waterloo," and I was absolutely hooked.  About 20 years ago, I was introduced to miniature wargaming and, of course, I began painting Napoleonic figures and soon understood why people call this particular era the "black hole" of wargaming. It literally never ends.  Since those early days, I have branched out to the American Civil War and World War Two (ground combat and naval).  I'm not a gaming snob though; I will jump into any era or play any rules. After 20 years with my head in the books, I can still say that I realize every day how much I don't know about history;  I literally learn something new every day.

Currently, I primarily use the General de Brigade system for Napoleonics and the Guns At Gettysburg rules for American Civil War.  I still frequently participate in the outstanding Carnage And Glory computer-moderated system by Nigel Marsh as well.  I have played many, many rules systems in the past though, always searching for the rules that appeal to my sense of balance between realism and playability..........Empire, From Valmy To Waterloo, Napoleon's Battles, Fire And Fury, Johnny Reb, etc, etc.  I have found that the General de Brigade series contain the amount of detail that seem to produce the "right" results in warfare, yet are not overwhelming in complexity.

My purpose with this site is to post a bit of information that might help my fellow wargamers out.....scenarios, links, orders of battle, etc.  Any feedback will be appreciated.  I hope you, as I do, enjoy your journey in historical simulation.
