Mouse Potato
A mouse potato is an individual that spends a majority of their time on the computer. A mouse potato can be found browsing the internet, playing computer games, downloading music and/or videos, or doing work for school or a job. A mouse potato is similar to that of a couch potato; however, this individual spends their time on the computer rather than on the couch. A couch potato is known as an individual who may spend a mass amount of time sitting or laying on the couch not being very productive. Many individuals have moved from the couch to the computer especially since computers have increased in their technological development and the internet has broadened. The term mouse potato can be found in the category of a type of person.
Example: While most young children can be found playing outside, some are inside constantly on the computer doing various things. They get on the computer as soon as they get home from school and don’t get off of it until late into the night. This is especially common with children who have their own computer in their room with internet access because many times their parents have no knowledge of their child’s computer use. These children may be considered to be mouse potatoes. However, this term is not limited to children
