The Health Benefits Of Using A Vaporizer

Topic: Vaporizer

Many people believe that a humidifier and a vaporizer are the same thing, but that is not the case. Before you shop for something that is going to release liquid into your air, you need to be fully aware of what it is you are shopping for.  The main difference between a humidifier and a vaporizer is that a humidifier does not boil the water before releasing it back into the air and a vaporizer does.  There are also differences in how they work.

A humidifier is generally used to create a fine, cool mist that is released into the air.  It does not heat or boil the water beforehand, which can possibly also cause bacteria and/or mold to be released into the air as well.  There are three different kinds of humidifiers: an impeller humidifier, an ultrasonic humidifier, and an evaporation humidifier.  Both the impeller humidifiers and ultrasonic humidifiers break down the water into a fine mist using certain technologies while the evaporation humidifier uses a fan to blow air through a wetted down filter, releasing moist air.

A vaporizer boils the water into steam before releasing it into the air in the form of a mist or spray.  A vaporizer is also created to be used with aromatherapy products that are also released into the room.  A vaporizer may be considered a healthier option because the water is boiled first, killing off any potentially harmful bacteria that might otherwise be released into the air.  It also keeps fine mineral fragments from being released into the air, but, in doing so, may leave a layer of fine white dust at the bottom of the reservoir after all the water has been boiled out.

If used properly, both a vaporizer and a humidifier can provide a good source of moisture to a particularly dry room.  Remember that a vaporizer can also be used for medicinal aromatherapy purposes and a humidifier cannot.  Whichever machine you use, be sure to clean it thoroughly before each use in case any moisture left behind from the previous use has allowed bacteria and mold to grow in it.  It could be harmful to have it released into the air. Cleaning will also help the filters last longer and cut down on the release of allergens.
