MSNTV2 Pros and Cons my personal page Counter provided by www.sitemeter.com . Highly recommended for webtv & msntv2. Page last updated Aug 06 2007. EMAIL ME: camueller1981@webtv.net __________MY FINAL OUTLOOK_______ If you know how to use a PC and have the money to afford a new PC, then the MSNTV2 will be a downgrade for you and you will more than likely be dissatisfied. However if webtv is all you have ever used and known how to use, then I would suggest buying an MSNTV2 once MSN starts offering the rebates again or lowers the price from the current $199.99 tag. PCs have problems too! When You have trouble with MSN service or the unit, you know who to call. If you have problems with your PC, then your internet provider can hardly help you if your PC is having problems. I for one have always loved my user friendly webtv and I love my up-to-date and user friendly MSNTV2. As long as the service is supported, I will never discontinue it. Many people have started rumors that the old webtv service will come to an end soon. My own judgement tells me that is obviously not true. #1- MSN will give fair warning in advance if they were to discontinue the webtv service. #2- As long as there are paying customers to the service, it will never go away. #3- Even if it does happen sooner or later, MSN will continue to support the new MSNTV2 service for years to come which is a better service for the fact that it is so much more to date than the old service. So there is really no need to worry about the old service going away. Another note: When the MSNTV2 was first released in 2004, it was still in development and there were many downsides to it. I can say from first hand knowledge that most, if not all of those problems have been fixed through upgrades. Most notably the MSNTV2 lacked SPELL CHECKER in email, CHAT, and the ability to cut-copy-and paste. As of April 2007 those things have been fixed! I will continue to update this page as I need to. As an average user of both services I have listed the most relevant pros and cons that I could see to my knowledge. Email me if you have any pros and cons of your own that I haven't listed or have other questions. EMAIL: camueller1981@webtv.net
