Bright Ideas

As the seasons temperatures begin to drop, and as the leaves begin to turn colors of orange and yellow and red, the fruits of the trees that we have tended to and trimmed and sprayed are now coming to maturity.   And now we must decide what we want to do with this offering of nature.    The fruit is sweet and juicy.   The fruit is the apple, and this year I decided travel a different road in using the apples that my trees have given me, this year I wanted Apple Cider.    I made this decision the second week of august, and some would say that I was cutting it close; well I did a little.    Well, my mind was made up, so now all I had to do was learn everything about making and using a Cider Press and in making cider...crash course time.

Another contraption taking up space...thats how my wife puts it

So to the web/internet I went, and learned what I could, and got a rough idea on construction of a cider press.   And so with a rough idea in-mind, and a rough sketch in my hands, off I went to the lumberpile.  And after about a dozen or so "revisions on the fly" to my plan, and a good bit of "quality time" spent with my woodworking tools and my welder, I had myself a cider press.         And as the late great Paul Harvey used to put it  "And now, the rest of the story...".
