I have always been a fan of amusement parks, and as an engineer by trade, find myself fascinated with traveling carnivals and how the rides are built up and torn down at each venue. While at the Lego store at Disney World during a family vacation in the summer of 2014, we came across the Lego Fairground Mixer set. Once arriving back home in Indiana, the set was assembled and the craze began. With a modified version of that original Mixer ride by Lego, Triple J Amusements was formed as the joint effort of my two sons and I to construct our own traveling carnival with Lego Carnival creations.
Our first scratch creation was a generator to power the Mixer. We are now on version 3 of the generator trailer, complete with air compressor and six 9-volt power outlets.
Up to this point, the majority of our focus has been on the support equipment needed to get our carnival from city to city. Now well into year 3 of our carnival, the basic support equipment is complete, and we are starting to get more complex with our creations.
We currently only have a handful of rides, but several others are in the works as our creations get more and more complex.
