This past Tuesday night I found myself in Burlington Vermont at the airport. I was taking a flight back home after spending a month at my older brother Mike's house. I had flown out to Burlington, from Seattle, to help his wife take care of him. My brother had suffered a back injury after being in a very bad car accident. As I sat in the airport waiting for my flight, I took some time to go online over my laptop.

One of the things I looked for were insurance companies that sold California medicare insurance. My brother has been on medicare for the past three years. I had a feeling that in the future my brother was going to be incurring lots of medical bills. I also had a feeling that many of these medical bills were not going to be covered by medicare. As I looked up the subject, I found many insurance companies that offered this type of insurance.

On one of the websites I found a page where I could put in some of my personal information to get a free online quote. Instead of putting in my own information, I put in my brother's, but I did input my phone number. I wanted to see what kind of numbers that my brother would be looking at premium wise. I was curious too. I will be eligible for medicare in two years. I knew from my experience working in the healthcare industry that purchasing medicare supplemental insurance was a smart choice.

I addition to looking at these websites, I also looked at various blogs where people talked about their experiences with this type of insurance. Most of the people commenting in these blogs had positive things to say about the insurance. I bookmarked some of these blog pages for future reference.
