Jay Cutler

The Bears in their current incarnation have a couple of glaring problems. They also have a few less glaring problems that may or may not need to be addressed for this team to take the next step. Whether Jay Cutler is one of those problems is a matter of debate but we do know that he’s less than elite in daily fantasy sports. Cutler has never really been a great daily fantasy sports quarterback but he’s been just good enough to maintain a starting position on a lot of fantasy squads. This past year was not one of his better campaigns and it’s not hard to see why. With only 19 touchdown passes and a whopping 38 sacks Cutler was one of the least effective quarterbacks in the league. He averaged just 185 yards per game and barely more than a touchdown per game. Without Brandon Marshall to buoy his stats this would have been an awful season for Cutler. Going into next year we’re left with far more questions than answers about the Chicago QB.

Cutler’s going to have Marshall again next year but unless someone else develops he’ll be the only true deep threat the Bears have. That’s a bad place for a quarterback in daily fantasy sports to be and it’s made worse by the multiple other offensive issues the Bears face. Cutler’s going to have to deal with a number of things to make himself a more attractive quarterback in daily fantasy sports next year but it’s doubtful that the Bears can overcome them.  For now Cutler’s just a backup quarterback in daily fantasy sports. Unless something drastic occurs to the Bears roster he won’t be anything more than seventh rounder at best. He is under no circumstances going to be a starter in daily fantasy sports next year.
