How To Do A NFL Fantasy Football Draft

These days, just about everyone in the United States have at least heard about NFL fantasy football. Millions and millions of people are already playing, and a record number of owners are expected to take control of teams in the upcoming NFL season.

For those people just starting out though, it all begins with the draft. An NFL fantasy football draft is where you will get most of the players that you will play the rest of the season on you imaginary team. Yes, there can be trades and free agents picked up during the year, but the draft is where people are going to get their best players for their team.

In the draft, most NFL fantasy football leagues will use a snake draft format. That means that if eight teams are in the league, the draft order will go one through eight, and then eight back to one. That means that the team who gets the last pick in the first round will get the first pick in the second round.

As the draft goes along, people usually only get about 60-90 seconds to make their selection. That is why it is important to have an idea on who you plan to draft so that you can make a quick decision and not be too rushed into things.

Most leagues have a pretty simple format, with 15 total rounds. Users will select quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers and tight ends for offense, a team defense and a kicker. There is also a bench to store some players in case a matchup does not seem to look good, or if a player is injured and is not playing.

NFL fantasy football drafts are exciting and and fast-paced. If you are new to playing, it is important to try to be a little bit prepared before logging into the draft.
