In this episode, Paul shares the mic with Peter Balcarek. Peter spent the last 10 years working in the banking and finance industry and has an active lifestyle. At a point he was emotionally disintegrated and has fallen into what he calls a “black hole.” Peter shares to Paul more of his experiences and how he beat severe depression.

Together, they also talk about the staggering statistics of beat depression, social issues and issues relating to the management of depression vs the preventive care of depression.

  • Peter’s depression was triggered by many things, including having divorce

    • Peter realized he covered his self-worth issues with aggressive behavior and anger

    • Men get uncomfortable in showing vulnerability because they feel like it’s a sign of weakness
    • Most guys feel like their friends are not giving much emotional support
    • Having follow-up questions is one thing men lack
