Go vegetarian to cut costs
Mood:  cool
Topic: Can U ???

Becoming a vegetarian or at least eating more greens might just be the solution to cope with rising costs of food and fuel.

A vegetarian diet can be a very healthy option but of course, it is important to ensure that it is well balanced," said lecturer Asha Latha B.S. who has been a vegetarian for more than 40 years.

Asha, who spends about RM200 on her monthly groceries to feed her family of three, said the amount doesn't fluctuate much even though she noticed an increase in prices of about 20 to 30 per cent when paying for vegetables.

She said her brother, who is also a vegetarian, pays a slightly higher amount to feed a family of five.

Prices of vegetables have increased by between 10 and 20 per cent because of the increase in fuel prices, fertilisers, farming equipment and overhead costs.

Contrary to popular belief, hypermarkets do not always offer the best prices when it comes to vegetables.

Popular items like long beans, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower and broccoli were cheaper in hypermarkets.

However, some selected items such as green chillies, sawi, spinach and spring onion were cheaper at wet markets.

Feeling the pinch of the recent increase of prices for essential items, taxi driver Osman Abdullah has opted to increase his vegetable and fruit intake.

"I have cut down on buying poultry products and rice although it was a difficult decision for us as we love rice," he said.

Speeding eat up 35% of Fuel
Mood:  crushed out
Topic: Mat Rempit Speed Ma...

Speeding gets you only four per cent faster to your destination, but eats up 35 per cent more fuel.

Meaning that for all the weaving in and out of traffic for an hour, you save two minutes and use a third more fuel.

Driving below 100kmh cuts down a substantial amount of fuel, another study revealed.

Reducing speed from 120kmh to 100kmh saves up to 20 per cent of fuel.

A reduction to 90kmh saves another 10 per cent.

To conserve even more fuel while travelling on highways, Wong recommended the use of auto cruise control because it lessens acceleration and deceleration.

Many drivers have a bad habit of placing a foot on the brake pedal, especially on highways.

"This increases fuel use."

All drivers must make sure their tyres are of the right pressure, to avoid idling and not to overload the vehicle.

Tyres under inflated by 55kPa can set one back by four per cent of petrol.

And if you know you would remain stationary for more than two minutes, switch the engine off,

Overloading is especially bad on small cars, said Wong, because the fuel economics and engine were not designed for such a load.

For those looking to buy a new car, get accurate fuel consumption information.

A typical car can cover 100km on 12 to 13 litres.

Smaller cars are better, running on 10litre/100km in cities and 6 to 7litre/100km on highways.

Cuepacs ask for new allowances
Mood:  happy
Topic: Bagus !!!!!!!!!!!

Cuepacs today asked the government :

1.Revise the cost of living allowance (Cola) for civil servants in tandem with the hike in prices of fuel and essential items.

2.Ask the government to consider a special allowance for civil servants required to work at night as an incentive for working odd hours than their colleagues working the normal work shift.

He said night-shift employees needed higher concentration at their workplace to the extent that some of them suffer undue stress.

Fuel Price Hikes May Cause Inflation Jumping
Mood:  sad
Topic: Change u Lifestyles
On 05 June 2008 was a bad day for all Malaysian since the fuel price increased again and it gives me a big SHOCK after the news released officially from TV channel and Internet breaking news. It’s increased from MYR 1.92 (per liter) to MYR 2.70 (per liter), approximately 41% amazing increased.

While I feel the pain of the price increased, this is quite inevitable due to the global petrol price. Following the increase in petrol price, prices of other goods are expected to rise and hence the cost of living will be skyrocketed.

This kumpulan always confuses us by claiming we still enjoy the cheapest oil price in Asia. Thise kumpulan always says countries like Singapore, British, Japan, their oil price are a few times than us in actual RINGGIT. But they never consider that we are a net exporter of oil, whereas our neighbors are net importers.

Typically, this kumpulan had never consider how’s the feeling of public and how we will be affected. We must take action for our future and our children!!!.

I feel bad for people living in the kampong, people living in rural area of Sabah n Sarawak. I know their difficulty becaus im from the rural once but i managed to make up my mind to change my destiny....

For those people who intend to buy a new car recently, then this can be used as a guideline for them to do some new adjustment and future analysis. My advice is better having a good control on self-expenses otherwise you will be beaten down easily.

FATHERS DAY
Mood:  happy
Topic: Dearest Dad

The time of the year is here again for us to pay tribute to the most important man in our lives our dear Fathers. These individual are most of the time less acknowledged by us as their role and part are not as dominant as their counter parts our mothers.

These men are to be saluted for all their sacrifices emotionally and physically towards the well being of their families. Most of them  really toil to fulfill all their childrens desire and dreams at all cost and deserves to be praised. Meanwhile some don't that does not make them lesser in any way as a father.

Always remember that we can never choose our parents but at least we can decide on how to treat them. So this fathers day let toast to all the sacrifices that this first man in our lives has made and tell him that he is the greatest despite all the differences that we share and the generation gap which has taken root within us.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY AND ALL BLOGGERS PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO CALL OR VISIT YOUR FATHERS AND REKINDLE YOUR RELATIONSHIP AND LOVE TOWARDS HIM.
