Mood:  sad

She tilted her head to look up at me, her hair fell to the side of her face and she put her hand up to wipe the tears that were falling from her eyes.  Her eyeliner smeared as she pulled her hands away. Leaving a dark trail of emotion across her face.  Seeing her like this made my insides wrench.  I never thought it would come to this.  I looked at her for the last time.  I turned to walk away and she grabbed my hand and pulled me back. I took my hand back and pushed a strand of hair away from her face.  I took her head in my hands and lightly kissed her forehead. "Goodbye" I said, I turned and left leaving her standing in the rain.  "But I love you" she said, I was too far away to hear her.  I kept walking, the rain soaking my jacket.  The raindrops fell harder and harder, carrying my tears with them as well as my love for her.  "If only" I thought "if only she could have said those three small words".  I put my head down and kept walking with my hands in my pockets, down a dry jacket and up a broken heart.
