Our body is constantly confronted with external enemies: microbes, viruses, bacteria.
Allergy is a failure of the immune system: instead of defending ourselves against real aggression, it does too much and starts to react against foreign substances (allergens) normally harmless (pollen, dust, food perfume ...). This reaction is reflected in particular by the production of antibodies specific for allergy - IgE (Immunoglobulin E).
Allergy is a global disease that causes various symptoms such as: asthma, hay fever (rhinitis), conjunctivitis, eczema, urticaria, allergic shock.
Allergy occurs when the body "meets" the allergen, through ingestion, inhalation, and skin contact. This triggers an immune system rejection reaction that considers the substance eaten, drunk, touched or breathed as a serious enemy.
The body will then activate its defense system, which will manifest in different ways depending on the person: exaggerated reaction of the lungs (asthma, allergic bronchitis), or nose (allergic rhinitis), or eyes (conjunctivitis), or of the skin (eczema, hives), or inside the mouth and throat (angioedema), or heart and blood vessels.
The allergic person is in perfect health as long as it is not in contact with one of the allergens that his immune system manages badly.
How to Treat One's Allergies with an Air Purifier
Check out this review of the IQ air health pro plus. Its not the only one I found extolling the virtues of this purifier's prowess at ridding the air of allergens, but certainly one of the best.
There are several ways to treat respiratory allergies but there is one that we do not talk about enough: air purifiers.
These devices can greatly reduce the body's reactions to allergens, especially the IQ Air – which is now being used in many Hospitals it's that good. After having equipped with an air purifier at home, it is possible to no longer feel any discomfort because of its allergies.
How can an air purifier treat allergies?
Allegia is a phenomenon of exaggeration of the immune response to an antigen. In the case of pollen allergy for example, the immune system falsely thinks that it is attacked by pollen.
When the immune system feels attacked, even if it is wrong, immune reactions take place. These reactions can be a runny nose, itchy eyes or pimples that appear on the skin.
The problem of allergies is therefore this exaggerated reaction of the immune system, and the presence of the allergen.
Indeed, if the allergen is absent, the immune system cannot react. That's why we recommend avoiding walks in the woods when we are allergic to grasses, for example, or we separate from dogs when we are allergic to it.
Air purifiers, thanks to their filtration system, have the ability to remove allergens from indoor air. So by having an air purifier at home, you can avoid all the genes caused by allergies.
How it works
The operation of an air purifier is simple. The polluted air enters on one side, passes through several filters, then clears out.
Most air purifiers use three levels of filters. The first, called pre-filter, removes all the big dust from the air. Hair, Dust, etc. are removed at the beginning of the filtration.
The second filter is an activated carbon filter. It helps trap odors inside microscopic cells. This filter is particularly useful to fight against the smells of cigarettes, animals or cooking.
The last level of filtration of an air purifier is the most important. It is at this level that a HEPA filter is used. This filter is used to filter the finest air pollution such as allergens, viruses or even fine particles.
A filter with the HEPA standard can easily filter particles above 1 micrometer. By comparison, pollen size varies between 7 and 150 micrometers. A dog's hair is about 50 to 200 micrometers in diameter.
Once passed through these three levels of filtration, the air is clear of all allergens and other pollutants.
Use for allergies
In order to use an air purifier optimally to fight against allergies, there really is not much to do. These devices have become extremely easy to use with newer models.
To be sure to remove a maximum of allergens from a dwelling, the purifier must run continuously.
Fortunately, modern purifiers consume very little electricity. In addition, they are equipped with an air quality sensor and automatically adjust their filtration speed.
