The Life of An Army Wife
Sunday, 29 March 2009
Doing research
Mood:  happy
Well, this is the very first entry to my new blog.  I thought it would be fun to blog about being the wife of a us army soldier.  John and I have been together 11yrs and married almost 8 yrs.  We are the proud parents to the 4 most beautiful children in the world: taylor 6, wayne 5, thomas 3 and rachael 1.  Wayne our 5 yr old has autism but hes high functioning and it has its good days and bad days but i just take the ball and roll with it as would any mom would do.  John and i have been through many field times and 3 deployments.  We are currently at fort polk louisiana.  We got here about a year ago and since john was on dwell time he didnt deploy with the rest of the brigade and was put on rear detachment which he hated.  We had the past year to reintegrate and become a family again which hasnt happened to much in the past 3yrs.   Over this past year john has had mental issues due to his last deployment which was rough but he started to go to counseling and that has helped him alot and we've come so far as a family and i wouldnt trade this time together for anything in the world.  Anyway, now this brigade recently returned from deployment and now things are starting to change but that is ok i know what it's all about and how things go.  Being married to a soldier is by far not an easy life.  You have so much time apart and you have to take care of the house, the kids , paying the bills and keep the homefront running.  You can't make plans, your loved one can be called in at the last minute and its just not your typical 9 to 5 job its a 24/7 profession.
