- You won't have to pay a electricity bill again.
- No fuel is needed to acquire solar energy.
- Price will not increase and decrease since there is no supply and demand. The solar energy is always there and it can't be depleted.
It Is Environmentally Friendly
- It's renewable, clean and protects the environment
- Doesn't pollute the air like many other energy sources do
- Does not contribute in the creation of smog, acid rain and global warming
- It reduces the use of fossil fuel and makes nuclear plants unnecessary, therefore preventing the creation of radioactive waste
It Is Independent
- It can be used when the power grid is down so your home will have electricity when there is power outage
- It can operate independently, no connection to a power grid is needed. Since no gas or fuel of any type is needed, solar power systems can be installed anywhere.
- Dependence on fossil fuel is reduced, which is a good way to a sustainable future
- Solar energy creates wealth and new jobs
Almost No Maintenance
- Solar systems last for decades and are almost maintenance free
- When you install a solar system, there are no other costs
- They are completely silent, do not release any gases or smells
- It is easy to add more solar panels, if needed
Then, the disadvantages
- Initial cost
- Utility supplied power is still cheaper than the solar energy
- Solar panels demand a lot of free space
- System's efficiency depends on the amount of sunshine
- Pollution and clouds affect the solar energy production
- No energy can be created during nighttime
