Center of Gravity Golf Tips and Techniques Book Release
COG BOOK PDF
"Who Else Wants to Hit Booming Fairway-Splitting Drives From the Very First Tee, Stick It Close to the Pin, Even Over Water, Drain those Impossible Putts, and Make Your Foursome Partners 'Hate' You For Taking Their Money Every Single Weekend?"
The Center of Gravity Golf system is a tool to learn, understand, and implement a golf swing that will produce more consistency in your ball striking, short game, and putting. No matter what your handicap is now, any time you reach a playing plateau where improvement is slow or non-existent, you are lacking in consistency in one or many parts of your game. When your consistency improves, your game improves along with personal enjoyment level. I believe that personal enjoyment of the game is directly linked to the amount of frustration the player feels with each missed shot on a given hole. We all expect (and can deal with) a missed shot now and then, even the greatest players in the history of the game miss badly from time to time, it’s the consistent miss hit that drives us to lose our cool and raises our frustration levels along with our scores. The problem most of us have is that “Life” gets in the way of golf and we can’t find the time to devote to practice or play as much as we would like. Taking lessons “I’ve found” is only effective if you can put into practice the ideas your Golf Pro is trying to instill in you as you try to remember exactly what you thought you heard at the lesson. As a Golf Professional, I can say the same thing, my job and life get in the way of practice time and play time so I had to develop a method to deal with the time constraints we all have and Center of Gravity Golf was born. After years of teaching the old standard methods, and using a lot of trial and error, I combined the best of what actually worked with the C.O.G. golf method in order to accelerate the learning stages and create a high level of success quickly, which in turn increases player confidence and the cycle of improvement begins. I have experienced almost immediate success with virtually every player I’ve worked with using the C.O.G. methods, and I’m convinced it will work with you the same way no matter what level of golfer you currently are. I have always felt golf guru Harvey Pennick was correct when he stated, “If the student is not learning, the teacher is not teaching”. I take personal responsibility if one of my students is not improving and does not have a greater knowledge of the cause and effect of the outcome of each shot he or she takes. Cutting through the jargon and technical speak to the point of understanding what’s really happening is the key to learning and making positive changes to your game. This is the reason I have the policy to never accept payment for a lesson if significant improvement and understanding is not clearly evident by both the student and the teacher. The same goes for any video, book, or golf tip download purchased from our web site. Communication, “I feel”, is the real key to learning and understanding and sometimes ideas and methods are lost or altered in translation or interpretation. For this reason, every word you read was written by me, in simple plain English and not an interpretation by a ghostwriter. "Testimonials"
George Macneil - November 2, 2007 Rob: Thanks for your response. I took only two lessons with you on the Oct. 4 - 19 cruise. I think that hour has been the best hour I have ever spent with any Golf professional. Your invaluable advice has helped my game reach a new level. I hope things are well with You and yours. -- George Macneil
Rob Michael- Aug 24, 2007 In 2002 I had tendinitis in my right elbow which was subsequently diagnosed as golfer's elbow. I suffered for a year with this painful problem. Physiotherapy gave me some relief but didn't solve the problem. The problem was my golf swing. I spent 30 minutes with Rob in 2002 and within two weeks three things happened; my iron game significantly improved, my swing became more efficient and consistent with much less effort and lastly, my golfer's elbow was cured. On August 24, 2007 I came back to Rob because my driving game went south. Everything else was fine except for the driver. Rob introduced me to the Center of Gravity concept as it relates to the driver. In short, it works well. There are four very simple and logical concepts that he teaches you, that will change the way you use the driver forever. He provides a very effective practice drill which makes the ball rocket off the club face with no fade or slice. Now, the only thing I have to do is break 35 years of bad driving habits. Once I can consistently execute his concepts, I'll be driving the ball as consistently and effortlessly as my irons. I highly recommend Center of Gravity golf. Thanks Rob for setting me straight (literally!) again. -- Rob Michael
Jerry Taylor - Aug 4, 2007 Mr. Bernard, My wife and I were on your last Princess Cruise to Mex. out of Los Angeles. We attended your classes and played three days. I want to tell you that was the best golf instructions we have ever taken, especially the short game. Your short game DVD has improved our game immensely. More important we play with confidence in the short-game shots, ie, pitches, chips, lobs and sand is NO problem. I have not seen any instructor teach what we learned from your classes and DVD. So glad we bought the DVD and met you and your wife. Good Luck and keep teaching, you are good. -- Jerry Taylor
Purchase Now! What you will Learn: 1.) Consistency Triangle There are believers in “swing plane”, “weight transfer”, shoulder turn”, “strong grips”, “weak grips”, or whatever, some even think the answer is in new equipment. While all of these things certainly have a place in golf and maybe in your golf swing, none of them should be considered to be the “Secret” to the game because there is a common denominator that must be under control for any of the aforementioned fixes to work at all. In my opinion, there is a “secret to golf” it is what I call the Center of Gravity Consistency Triangle. 3.) Learn the 1.....2.....3...... golf swing. Learning to place the golf club in the proper position at the top of your swing is easier than you might think, once you know how, and the sequence of good things that happen automatically, you’ll be setting yourself up for a powerful swing time after time. 4.) Hit your driver with confidence and power Getting the ball off the tee and in play consistently with the driver continues to be a struggle for most players. There are three things working against us when we have the ball on a tee with a driver. Once we understand what happens and how to fix it, we’re on our way to long, straight, consistent driver shots. 5.) The Four Short Games of Golf a.) Putting b.) Chipping c.) Finesse Shots D.) Pitch Shots a.) Putting: Start draining those 8 to 10 foot putts and get close for the easy tap in on those 40 footers, it's really not that hard. I don’t believe good putters are born, I believe you can become a good putter with a little knowledge, a little practice, an understanding of the COG triangle, and the right attitude. b.) Chipping I believe the chipping stroke is very underestimated by the casual and in some cases even low handicap golfers. Chipping, in my opinion is the number two, stroke saver in the game behind only putting. When I developed the COG method for consistency in the long game, it only made sense to me that it would work in the short game as well, it does! c.) Finesse Shots The “Finesse Game” is a very important part of the short game arsenal you need in order to build your confidence around the green and bring your game to a new plateau. I am going to show you the 1.....1 shot that is going to create these reliable “Finesse Shot” distances whenever you need them. d.) Pitch Shots A pitch shot is basically any shot that is out side your longest finesse shot yardage and inside your full swing wedge distances. Here you will learn the 1......2 Pitch Shot Golf Swing to get the job done creating consistent, reliable short shots. 5.) The best practice drills that will make going to the range a fun experience not to mention implementing them on the golf course. 6.) You will receive my personal email where you can send in any questions you might have but what I really want to hear is the success stories and how much fun you are having. 7.) Free membership to my monthly news letter that is filled with golf tips and stories. Purchase Now! More Happy Golfers!
Donald Forrest - Aug 24, 2007 Rob, Your instruction, plus a wonderful day driving and putting assisted me to set a course record! "CrossWinds is a golf course in Ontario with a slope of 141 from the tips, the tournament I was in was played Friday June 8th, 2007; and I was a guest of TD Waterhouse! A greens keeper, connected by headset overheard one of the members in my group say 4 under after 4 holes, you could set the course record. He called the pro shop and a marshal joined us on the 5th tee and asked to follow us for the next 14 holes, as I may set the new course record. I shot an additional 6 under for the next 14 holes making my round 10 under 62, breaking the old record by 4 shots. Being 62 this October you can imagine the fanfare, pictures a presentation and the fact I almost shot my age! Appreciate the tips and am using your system! Your friend in Canada! -- Don PS Hope all is well with you!
Steve Hahn - Feb 21, 2007 Hello Rob! I don't know if you remember me. My name is Steve Hahn. I took a lesson from you on the Friday after Thanksgiving on the Princess cruise from Los Angeles to Puerto Vallarta, Matzatlan and Cabo. Your diagnosis was that I was swaying to outside of my right foot on the back swing and that I had my chin tucked into chest (you correctly guessed that I wear bifocals!). You explained that former caused a right to left sway on the downswing and the latter caused a backwards lean because my brain was telling me to shift weight to my heels so I didn't fall forward on my face during the downswing. You gave me a drill - swing a weighted club with my eyes closed - to improve my balance. I must admit I'm not too good at that because I like to see the "ball" (or at least a spot on the grass on the grass) when I swing. I find swinging with my eyes closed simply feels weird. (I am a very visual learner.) However, I have spent 2-3 times per week just swinging a 6-iron 10-15 times while concentrating on keeping my weight on the ball of my right foot on the back swing. (You told me to imagine it was staked or snapped to the ground.) I even throw in 2-3 swings with my eyes closed for good measure. This has really improved my iron play. I make much more consistent contact. As evidence - I made a hole in one on December 2 (155 yards, 6-iron). Also, I find myself hitting a lot more greens in regulation these days, and even when I miss, the ball is much closer to the target. I also wanted to mention that your seminar on the full swing has really helped my driving. Your suggestion to set up with the driver in the "normal" position and have the ball a couple of inches forward of that has really worked for me. This is something I did on my own 10 years ago with somewhat decent results, but I abandoned it because I didn't see anyone else doing it and I thought it was just a lame band aid and I should figure out how to address my driver "properly". Well, your method works! I have gone from a chronic fade off the tee to a consistent draw using the exact the same swing. I simply changed my set up - ball/club position per your suggestion and holding my chin higher, concentrate on keeping my weight in between my feet (not getting to the outside of the right foot), and then a just I just make a swing. Bingo - I'm driving it farther and have more confidence on the tee box than I ever have had before. I also wanted to say that your putting seminar has improved my putting. Over the years my ball position had crept forward - about 1 inch inside my left heel. I started putting the ball under my shirt button. It took a few rounds to get comfortable (old habits die hard!) but I am better able to put the putt on line - no more struggling to hold the putter square - just letting it flow. The result - increased consistency and confidence. I still struggle with distance compared to the big hitters. I have a bad case of arthritis in my right hip. (My orthopedic surgeon is recommending total hip replacement.) Because of this physical limitation, I don't have much internal rotation available on my right hip, which has the effect of limiting my turn going back a bit. I started flaring out my right foot a little more (per an article in a golf magazine aimed at senior golfers). This foot position change, coupled with the suggestions from your lessons has really improved my driving, and as a result, greatly increased my enjoyment of the game. I am not the biggest hitter and probably never will be, but I am "long enough" to reach 400 yard par 4's in two. Also, I find playing from the short grass more often than the big hitters is a huge advantage. I wanted to say thanks for the best lesson I ever took in my life. Keep it simple. The little things pay off in consistency and consistency makes the game a lot more fun to play! Thanks Again, -- Steve Hahn
