John Cena has won the 25 man over-the-top-rope challenge to become the WWE Heavyweight Champion by eliminating The Rock early today. Cena entered the match as the 22 entry, while The Rock was the last man in at number 25. When asked about his victory John Cena stated,
The battle royal was one of the most grueling matches that I have ever participated in and I would like to congratulate all of the other competitors who were in there with me, especially The Rock.
The Rock was nowhere to found for an interview after the match, which makes one wonder how has The Great One taken the loss, being so close to victory only to lose at the final hurdle? When asked about the match general manager Eric Bischoff simply said, "It was a good match, but prepare for real fireworks on Thursday." What could the man running the show mean by this?
