Hello!

My name Skylar Walker and I am a sophomore Communication Studies major at the University of Georgia. I am enrolled in Dr. Stahl's COMM 2360 Rhetoric in Popular Culture class. For my project I chose the topic of simulation versus reality. Today, we have simulation all around us. Everywhere we look we are confronted by virtual reality games, holograms of our favorite artist, automated customer service representatives, and even popcorn flavored jelly beans. There are certain simulated products that we have grown so accustomed to that we stop recognizing the artificiality of the product and accept it over the authentic. The literary analysis explores four different articles about simulation and reality, and how the consumer views the differences between these.
The creative project employs a taste test to see if people can identify authentic from simulation and which one they prefer.
