The Right Shop Fittings Displays Increase Sales

Why do retailers spend so much time and effort on shop fittings, displays and shop fitting products?  Of course the answer is obvious, they believe the right presentation will attract the niche of customers they are after and ultimately, increase sales.

Unfortunately many retailers make the mistake of thinking the colour schemes, and personal taste they have, will be as enticing for everyone else as it is to them. Unfortunately, this is not so.

Shop fitting and displaying products, “merchandising”, seldom works this way.  There are proven successful methods and systems for placing specific products, in specific places, in shop fittings displays.

The old adage of “Eye level is buy level” is, of course, still true but even more important is the fact that if a customer cannot see it, cannot reach it or cannot notice it, in the sea of colours and logos all jostling for their attention, the product will go unnoticed and unsold.

This is where shop fittings and shop display products play a significant merchandising role.  Retailers need to pay particular attention to products that are not moving and call for expert assistance to increase sales.

Effective display solutions are often simple and inexpensive.  Cost effective shop displays may include simple items such as poster frames, ceiling hangers, counter mats or merchandiser strips.

Dump baskets and cardboard bins can also be an ideal way to stimulate impulse sales of low cost or clearance items.  A sale poster is sometimes all that is needed to stimulate a customer to visit your store. These simple items may be all you need to kick start a sales boost…why not give them a try?

Trolley Basket Trend

With few changes in the design and construction of shopping trolleys over the last couple of decades, it is interesting to see the new trend in trolley baskets emerging. Possibly because of the increasing market share of convenience store outlets and small inner city supermarkets, the need for an alternative to the regular trolley has gradually evolved.

While plastic shopping baskets are still popular, busy, working consumers are tending to pick up more than just snacks on their way to and from work.  With shopping baskets designed to only handle a few items and convenience stores selling larger ranges, including everything from cosmetics to dog food, a larger, sturdier basket was needed.

Customers tend to stop shopping when it becomes uncomfortable to carry any more.  Understanding this, smart retailers are providing a solution to keep customers shopping in their stores. Basket trolleys nicely fill the niche between a regular trolley and a carry basket. Trolley baskets are extra large, have a handle so you can carry them if you wish, but if items are heavy, a pull handle extends, which turns the basket into a pull along trolley.

Trolley baskets nest neatly inside each other when not in use.

Trolley Baskets are an ideal option for stores with limited space.  It seems necessity is still the mother of invention.
