Sailing Routes Near Šibenik

There are numerous places to explore when traveling in Šibenik area. Some of the route options are many charming villages on the coast, nearby islands or two national parks: Krka national park and Kornati islands.

The village of Skradin lies on the Krka river north of Šibenik. There you can visit the waterfalls of the Krka national park, especially Skradinski Buk, the most visited cascades of waterfalls on the Krka river. Apart from natural beauty there are important historic monuments and ruins worth visiting among which make sure to visit the Franciscan monastery is situated on the islet of Visovac.


Some other interesting places near Šibenik are Vodice, Primošten, Tribunj and Rognoznica.

In the vicinity of St Anthony Channel, there are several inhabited islands among which Zlarin, Prvić, Murter and Krapanj are the most popular tourist destinations. Zlarin, the thirs largest island of the Šibenik archipelago, is famous for its red corals. The island of Prvić, in the vicinity of Vodice, should also be a part of your sailing route. There are two villages on the island: Šepurine and Prvić Luka well protected from northern and western winds.


The numerous islands and reefs of the Kornati archipelago is a perfect place for sailing, diving and exploring of the rich underwater life. The beautiful archipelago, west of Šibenik, got its name from Kornat, the largest island of the group. The island of Murter is situated in the northwest part of the Šibenik archipelago. Make sure to visit some of its beautiful beaches, for example: Slanica, Plitka vala or Koromašna. Krapanj is one of the smallest islands of the Adriatic Sea and is also famous for its sponge divers.
