About The Taste
We are in the process of writing some new songs for our long awaited cd release. Some of us live in Los Angeles and check out the local bands on a regular basis. We cant wait to play for you at some of the chill clubs on Sunset Blvd. We are under the management of Ruth Surrey, who is also Team Principle of the Drift Avengers International, a car racing team. Stay tuned for club dates and tour dates. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The members of The Taste consist of 4 men, all of which march to the beat of their own drum. However, when placed together, their haunting, New Wave and evil sounds clash to make something noone's ever heard of. Right now we are touring around the united states with Formula Drift with Coopertires and the Drift Avengers. Our band has been working hard since 2004. Where did we get our name from you ask? well we got it from the movie Purple Rain. You know, the one with the Artist formerly known as prince in it? The Taste is the club prince plays at in the end. Ryan Ford: His obsession with big brother and influences by NIN and marilyn manson gives him a style all his own. Recently he has been into rise against and mcr. When the taste plays, and you look at ford, it's practically impossible to take your eyes off of him. his upbringing and life story makes sense when you see him sing his heart out on stage or the dance floor or wherever the mic takes him. you will love ryan ford, no matter what. Ryan Hawkins: members only jacket, black jeans, and a cure shirt. yes hes all New Wave and it shows in his style of music. He was pretty much raised by new wave. just by looking at him, you'd think he was brought from the 80's. Influences like depeche mode, the cure, yaz, skinny puppy made him what he is today, a new wave machine. his main instrument is the synthesizer but he also plays guitar and bass. Dominador Colis Pinera: upon hearing his haunting bass riffs, and originals, you say to yourself, "what the hell was that? ive never heard anything like that, but it was sweet!". His music is pretty much just as mysterious as he is in person. He has been influenced by countless sources of music, from classical music to electronica. He loves hybrids of music, for instance the hip hop and rock styles of the gorillaz or the rock electro movement of the faint. whatever genre of music Dominador plays, he plays it to the point of breaking his strings or blowing out his cabinets. his main instrument is the bass, in some songs he plays keys and lead guitar. Ian Nakazawa: is THE next big drummer of the decade. He is a classically trained mutha effa with dreams as high as the stars. he loves harder music but his soft side definately shows in person.
